The Shire of Dundas is seeking suitable individuals to join our Works Team as Waste Facility Attendants.
Role Description: The position involves undertaking maintenance and general duties at the Norseman Waste Facility to ensure compliance with Environmental Protection (Rural Landfill) Regulations 2002 and other relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Opening or closing of rubbish tip gate during operational hours
- Recording waste entering the Norseman Tip
- Directing vehicles to specific tip locations when necessary
- Separation of salvageable and re-useable materials
- Managing windblown debris
- Responsible management of materials, tools, equipment, vehicles, and plant
- Working under limited supervision
- Any other duties as directed by the Manager of Works and Services pertaining to the Shire's operational area
Skills and Requirements:
- Ability to work independently
- Valid Driver's Licence
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with the public
- Adherence to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures
