The Shire of Dundas is in an Restricted Burning period effective 1 October 2024.
From October 1st and November 30th landowner or occupiers must obtain a Fire Permit from the Shire before any hazard reduction activities or burning off can commence. Permits are available from the Shire of Dundas Administration Office.

Permit Holders are reminded they must;
- Abide by all other conditions prescribed by the issuing Fire Control Officer and on the rear of the fire permit; and,
- Contact the issuing Fire Control Officer prior to igniting; and,
- Contact DFES Communications Centre Ph: 08 9395 9209 to log your burning permit prior to igniting; and,
- Fire Control Officers reserve the right not to issue Fire Permits based upon the permit holders’ abilities and/or local conditions within their brigade area.
- Permit Holders are reminded that fire permits are deemed invalid on days where the Fire Danger Rating is “HIGH” or above, as forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology.
- Permits can be suspended or cancelled at any time by any Fire Control Officer based upon local conditions or forecast weather conditions.
